FanCode bags exclusive broadcast rights for India’s tour of West Indies

Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have jointly announced India’s upcoming tour of the West Indies, featuring three ODIs and five T20Is scheduled between July 22 and August 07. Trinidad and Tobago and St Kitts & Nevis will host the ODI series and three T20Is, while the final two T20Is are set to take place in Lauderhill, Florida, USA. FanCode, India’s exclusive digital sports destination, holds broadcasting rights for CWI until 2024 and will be the sole platform streaming these matches live for Indian audiences. The ODI matches will commence at 7 pm IST, followed by T20Is at 8 pm IST, aligning with India’s Prime-Time. Fans can catch the live action on the FanCode app (available on Android, iOS, and TV) and www.fancode.com.

In a groundbreaking move, FanCode will be the first-ever digital-only platform to host an India bilateral series, aiming to reach an estimated 10 crore sports fans. The platform offers a comprehensive and immersive digital experience, allowing fans to customize their viewing with preferred commentary language, statistics, and analysis through interactive overlays during the live stream. Additionally, fans can relive and rewatch any moment from the game almost in real-time, from Kohli’s elegant straight drive to Rovman Powell’s powerful hitting.

FanCode introduces unique subscription options like Tour Pass and Match Pass, making the series accessible to all users. Fans can select and pay for the entire series or specific matches they want to watch.

The series holds great anticipation as India returns to the Caribbean after a three-year hiatus, led by new captains Rohit Sharma and Nicholas Pooran. Pooran takes over the captaincy from Kieron Pollard. This series marks the culmination of an eventful summer for both teams in preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

Johnny Grave, CEO of Cricket West Indies, expressed satisfaction with FanCode’s four-year deal, bringing Indian cricket fans closer to CWI’s live properties and enhancing the sports viewing experience. Prasana Krishnan, Co-Founder of FanCode, emphasized the platform’s commitment to providing users with a fan-first digital experience, offering customization and seamless interactions.

West Indies Captain Nicholas Pooran highlighted the team’s ambition to restore the brand of cricket the West Indies team is known for, expressing eagerness to be competitive in the upcoming series as part of preparations for the T20 and 50 Over World Cups.
